what about this wish?

It would be nice if one can enlarge a page as we do for windows in ms
windows.
Pages could be resized by holding on the edge on the right or at the bottom
of a page
and stretching it to right or to down to bottom.

Atually there is I think the "auto" feature in ON12 but this is not really
what I would like to do.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to wish. If I made a page smaller,
what would happen with the space it used to occupy?

Considering that the paper metaphor does not disappear in ON2007, I don't
see that happening. If you have a spiral notebok, all of the pages are the
same size.

The ability to zoom in and out and set page sizes exist in both versions.
Maybe that would do whatever it is you're trying to accomplish.

The problem with the auto feature is that after a certain size (eg. 180 items
in a task list) there is definitely a drag in performance. I am guess the
program needs to take time to allocate memory. If I am understanding the
original poster correctly, he wants to allocate the memory at the beginning
of the page creation (or at some point while working) instead of having the
memory allocated in bits and pieces as he works.

I second the vote for this. Either provide a way to easily make custom page
sizes or as the original poster suggested, use the mouse to just increase the
page size.

on 2007 seems to be unchanged in this regard. there is still a taskpane to
set a page size. not even aprogram that is revolving around fixed page sizes
like word lets the user use the mouse to change it.
there is no way of knowing how fast on 2007 will be. betas are by default
slower

Erik thanx for the reply.
And sorry but I dont understand the logic of such an answer.
A usual notebook also does not provide linking, infinite number of pages
etc.
I guess ON does not limit itself with the boundries of a simple notebook.
if so, then we should stop lengthing our wish list.
This is indeed not the case as we are all aware of.
