What about Word 2007 beta

Is it worth the installation of Office 2007 beta? Reports I have heard is
that Outlook 2007 runs stably. OneNote 2007, which I now use, was a total
drag to get installed. Once installed it is sufficiently stable. Core
feature improvements, such as hyperlinking and a navigation tree, made it
worth the hassle. So what's the story about Word 2007. Does it run fairly
stably? Are there a lot of installation problems? Are there new features
non-corporate users should care about?

Yes, it tells me a lot. It also tells me something I already knew, which
means your comment told me nothing.

Beta offerings range widely in just how 'beta' they are. Take IE7. Beta 1
had too many bugs yet for many users. I used beta 2 comfortably, and many
say beta 3 is really ready for general use. It is certainly more stable
than the competition, Firefox and Opera. I am currently using OneNote 2007
beta 3. While a few glitches are reported, they are well-publicized. The
advances over ON 2003 warrant tolerating the small problems. Experienced
OneNote users are using beta as their main program. This was not the case
with beta 1.

So, if you don't want to provide any actual information, why respond at
al? Purely rhetorical responses are less than unhelpful. There would be a
greater chance of someone willing to provide honest, direct information
would do so if it were not made to appear a response was given.

I should think the fact that it's a *beta* should tell you a lot.

Okay, how about this for an answer...Read the archives of this or any other
Office newsgroup for the general public's opinion and experiences with
Office 2007's beta.

I do have passive aggressive tendencies but that's beside the point.

And yes, I do frequently suggest that the poster read the archives. It's an
excellent way to learn something that's been asked over and over again. It's
also a great way to learn that there are few "new" problems, just repeated
occurrences of old ones.

It seems that in the case of the beta, YMMV.

OK, JoAnn, I concede, you win, as I have no idea what YMMV means, and I am
not even curious.
