What are automation operations in Access and how can I change them

I am trying to convert two values from the form to another value that will be
recorded both on the form and also in the table. I have tried several ways
and have not been successful. The latest attempt with Macro keeps coming back
with an error message saying: "You tried to run a Visual Basic procedure to
set a property or method for an object. However, the property doesn't make
the property of method available for Automation operations.
Check the component's documentation for information on the properties and
methods it makes available for Automation Information."
The macro I'm trying to run involves addition and division and I'm using the
SetValue Action. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What are the exact details of the SetValue action you are using? Are
there any other actions in the macro, aside from the SetValue?
