What are invalid parameter values in contacts?

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to enter new contacts, but all I get is
"could not complete the operation. one or more parameter values are
invalid". Help. This is very frustrating. I also have the same problem when
trying to print an e-amil, or reply to a group.
