what are ssl and outgoing server port settings

when adding an email account to outlook the test settings, give errior
message that i did connect to outgoing server but need to check ssl and port
setings under other settins

Version of outlook? They are in either tools, accounts or tools, services.
Look for the account properties and then more settings or other settings
button. if you need more complete instructions, we need to know the version
and mode as reported in help, about.
