what are the limits for number of pictures in a spreadsheet

I have a product list containing specifications for 150 products, the sheet
contains coding that shows the specs and a photo of each product based on
entering it's product code number in the appropriate cell. But, looks like
I've run into an Excel limit, I'm getting no photo beyond around 60 pictures.
All photos have been reduced to smallest possible size, most <100kb Is there
a way around this limit?
