What can I do if my paper disappeared?

I was in the middle of typing my paper and it just disappeared I can find no
trace of it in any documents or recent files, this is a new computer so I am
starting to worry, and the paper is due tomarrow.

Hi Jonelle,

Tomorrow already happened, but if you have Word2003 and Word crashed as you
typed along (as it sounds from your description), it would try to recover
the file the next time you start Word. If it doesn't, there's probably
nothing to be salvaged.

In older versions, you could try to look for temp files (~*.*, *.tmp) with
the right time/date and size, and try to open them in Word.
But probably you just found out that it's sensible to save your work from
time to time :-(
