What does "link" do?

George

I'm using Outlook 2003 with BCM. Looking at my contacts in either
"Contacts" or "Business Contacts in BCM", I can right click and choose

Link > File; or
Link > Item

For "file", it of course brings up a folder of whatever files I navigate to.

For "item" it brings up the Outlook menu again and I can clik (link) a
calendar thing or a contacts thing like a name in another contacts book

What does this do? I tried both, and it doesn't seem to leave any link
anywhere.

Thanks,
George

This linking feature is not related to BCM's history at all. For a file, it
creates an entry in the Outlook Journal folder with a link to the file and a
link in the Contacts field to the contact. For an item, it creates an link
in the items Contacts field to the contact. You will not see these links in
the BCM contact item, but you will seem them in the journal entry or Outlook
item.
