what does the error 'property not found' mean in Access 2003?

C

Craig Dickson

I am trying to import a txt file into a blank table. The table has all
fields formatted as txt and when I am using the import wizard, I have changed
all the fields to txt aswell. When I get close to finishing the wizard I get
the message 'property not found' followed by an error message stating the
data cannot be imported.

I am not very technical so please bear that in mind when replying!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Craig.

Reregister the mstext40.dll file.

To reregister a dll file:

1 - Locate it in the Windows\System32 or WINNT\System32 folder.
2 - Locate the file regsvr32.exe in the same folder.
3 - Drag the dll file's icon onto the regsvr32.exe icon.

Hi Chris,
I've also had the same problem. When I try to re-register the mstext40.dll
file it fails with the return code 0x800040005.

An ideas?
Thanks
Willie

It means you don't have enough permissions to make changes to the registry.
Open a command prompt with "run as" administrator and type the command on the
command line instead of drag/drop.

Hi Chris,
I encountered same problem even I have reregistered the dll file you've
mentioned.
What should I do then?
thanks,
Karen

Chris,
Maybe you can give more specific details on the comand prompt process. Step
by step instructions would be great.
