What does the green triangle in upper left corner of start mean

The problem with symbols is it is impossible to look them up in help. There
is a green triangle in the upper left corner of the task start cell and I
have no idea what it means.

Can someone explain?

Hi Tom,
It is a feedback indicator. If you manually entered a start date Project is
trying to flag the field (start) with a message. If you hover your mouse
over the green triangle, a diamond will appear. Click on the diamond to read
the message and make a selection from the options.
You may turn off showing the indicators on the Interface tab of the Tools
--> Options dialog box.
