I'm not aware of any way to do this in any MS application (certainly not in
Word, Publisher, or PPT). I know it is possible in CorelDRAW and other
drawing apps.

Hi Thomas<<

There are a couple of places on the web that you can use to create spiral text as a graphic using pasted in text including, for
example,
http://www.myworksonline.com/en/spiral/spiral_main.html

If using a postscript printer, it would be possible (though a lot of work)
to create this effect with a PRINT field containing the appropriate
postscript code ...

If you are content to have the letters within each word straight then you can
do it but it will take a bit of effort. First create a step spiral as follows:

Draw a line and draw a set of equi-distant markers along it so that you have
created a what looks like the edge of a drawing ruler. Make one mark in the
middle of the ruler slightly longer as a spin reference point. Now group the
whole lot so that it becomes one object. Reproduce your ruler and lay the new
one on top of the old one, but rotate the new one say 5 degrees. Use the
centre longer mark as a registration point to lay each ruler on top of the
last one (this is so difficult to describe so take a look at
www.drawingwithword.com and work your way to the "let's draw"example of a
circle of stars. What you are trying to achieve is a wheel of rulers like the
wheel of lines there that the stars are placed on.

Continue reproducing and overlaying until you have created what should look
like a wheel of spokes with marks on. Don't forget that you can speed up the
process by grouping and copying set of overlayed rulers and rotating them

Now, draw a line from the first mark away from the centre mark on the first
ruler
to the second mark from the centre on the second ruler. Repeat, joining the
2nd mark from the centre of the second ruler to the thrid mark away on the
third ruler and so on.

What you will have drawn is a spiders web and how smooth a spiral it is will
depend on ow many spokes you have and how close your marks along them are.

If you think that lot was tedious now for the careful and slow bit. Type
each of your words as individual text boxes and position them on the spiral,
rotating them so that the bottom of the word is parallel to the spiral at
that point. Provide you aren't trying to write the complete works of
shakespeare you should be able to do the whole job in what should be an
acceptable time. It depends on how important the job is.
