What happened to Normal View in Word.

I don't want the Page Layout View. I need the Normal View like in 03. Is it
gone? If not, can you please tell me where I find it. Thank you.

It's now called Draft view, and it's the farthest right in the row of view
buttons on the status bar. If you want to fully enable Draft view, go to
Office Button | Word Options | Advanced; scroll all the way to the bottom to
the General options and check "Allow opening a document in Draft view."
Otherwise, even saving a document in Draft view will not help; it will still
open in Print Layout.

Thank you for your help. I went back and looked at the Draft view and yep,
that was the view I was looking for. Thanks again for your help.

If you go to Options in Tools in the toolbar, and click onto the "General"
tab, you'll see a small checkbox "Allow starting in Read Layout"--uncheck
this and you're go to go. I find the Read Layout a pain. But as for opening
it to Normal Layout... apparently once you've opened the document and change
the view, then save it, Word will retain this layout out...

However, per Microsoft's note on defaulting your own preference:
"Note: You can't set a default for all documents that you view in Word,
because the view setting is stored with each individual document as a
document property. You can save your document in the view with which you want
it to open. Documents that you receive from others will open with the view in
which they were previously saved."
