What happened to pattern fill?

I want to make a bar plot with striped or stippled bars. This used to be
possible with Office 2003 using 'Pattern fill' but this option no longer
seems available with Office 2007 - which only gives me solid, gradient, . How
do I make a stripped or stippled object???

It's gone, the only thing you could do is to draw a pattern in a graphical
program. Save that as a picture and fill your bars with that picture. To do
that go to the format contextual tab in the chart tools and in the shape
styles group, click on shape fill button, choose picture...
