What happened to text styles in Visio 2007??

Hello,
I'm having a very hard time with text in Visio. I'm editing an old org.
chart that I created many years ago, and, it's been through every version of
Visio since then, about 5 years ago. Anyway, I found in the help menu that
you can retrieve the use of Styles by putting Visio into developer mode.
That's fine. But, it doesn't seem to respect the use of the styles. I want 7
pt. Verdana, period. But, every time I select one of my boxes and choose that
style for the text, it keeps popping back to 6 pt. Arial. What's going on?
And, I can't see either where there's any dropdown for the styles I've
defined anymore. I seem to have to choose styles from Format, then choose a
style. That's awkward.

Thanks,
Peter

While Visio 2007 still supports styles (with Developer Mode on), the
functionality has largely been replaced by the new Themes feature.

Are you seeing this problem on a specific diagram type? There may be
something else preventing your styles from sticking.

I'm modifying an organization chart that I've been editing for 3 or 4 years
now, using, I guess, 2 or 3 different versions of Visio in that time. I've
never had these errors occur before, where, it basically just doesn't behave.
I'm do a lot of unnecessary clicking and typing here.

Yes, I've seen "themes" in the new Visio, but, to me, all I see so far is a
bunch of color coded samples to the right on my screen. If a theme includes
how an org. chart box looks like, including font, font sizing, spacing, etc.,
then, I'll look more into themes.

Thanks for your help.

Org Chart has its own settings on the Organization Chart menu. Go to the
Options dialog and look at the Text tab.

Yes, it does. But, my chart requires the use of 7 pt.. 8 pt. would make the
chart too big to fit on a tabloid page, like it does now. And, 6 pt. is too
small to read. Why on earth wouldn't it allow me to use 7 pt.? It's so crude.
It's like 1989. Style definitions allowed me to do everything I need.
Thanks, anyway.
