What happens when a task is deleted and approved by a PM?

Does anyone know what happens if a resource deletes a task and a PM approves
the deletion? Also is there a known or reccomended way to Undo this other
than a project restore?
Thanks,
Marlene

In 2007, this deletes (removes) the task from the project plan, and there is
no undo available. Your best bet is to make sure that you are using the
scheduled administrative backup feature. I'm always amazed at how few people
take advantage of this.

In addition to Gary's sage answer, the situation you describe is why we
recommend that team members DO NOT delete tasks on the My Tasks page. In
most environments, the project managers are in a hurry to approve task
updates, and do not notice that they are accidentally approving one or more
Delete Assignment Requests, which then removes the resource(s) from those
tasks in the Microsoft Project plan(s). And without the Administrative
backup that Gary mentions, there is no easy way to restore the affected
tasks. Beyond this, we also recommend that project managers NEVER approve
Delete Assignment Requests, for obvious reasons. Hope this helps.

Thanks Gary, we have that in place. Do you think (we are using timesheets
and task updates) if we went in and did a recall timesheet, and then
re-import it will it make the "deleted" task reappear for entry? I am going
to test this prior to doing a restore, but would appreciate your thoughts on
this.

something!!!!!!!
