what is a "personal folders password" for outlook2 ?

I needed help with a problem with my outlook. It worked fine for a while and
now when I try to open it a message comes up that says it needs to start in "
safe mode". I then start it in safe mode and a prompt comes up that says "
Personal Folder Password" and then asks me to "type password for Outlook2". I
have no idea what this password is or how to correct the problem. Can you
help me please. My email is (e-mail address removed). Thank you very much.

When ask you to select safe mode what happens when you select no does it
start and still request a password?
