what is a psd file in outlook

The tech team at the office shifts mail from the server to a psd file on my
desktop to create space.
what does this mean? how can i do it myself?

Do you mean PST file? If so, that's a Personal Folder file (PST = Personal
STore). You can try using AutoArchiving to do the same thing automatically
