What is a typical OneNote notebook size? (in MB)

My team is thinking about adopting OneNote 2007 across the
organization. Does anyone have a rough idea of the notebook size of a
typical OneNote user after a couple of years? Are we talking GB's
here? Anyone care to guess?

I'm sure it depends heavily on the number of screenshots you take,
'print to OneNote's' etc... but just to get an idea, I thought I'd
poll the group.

I've been using it for 1.5 years and my notebook is approaching 100MB.
But I take mostly text notes....

I have 76MB after using ON2007 for 3-4 months. I use it most days, and print
to onenote moderately.

Hi everyone! I've noticed that twice now as I read this thread people have
mentioned "printing to OneNote" specifically. Why is that? Is there
something I should know, as a user, about the size of documents formatted
using this function? And if there is a size issue, is there anything I can
do to keep the size down in that case?

Just curious. Let me know!

I've been using ON for over 1 year now and I'm up to about 5 GB of storage
space. However, every page in my sections have a 10MB audio file as well as
prinouts from powerpoint...

I use OneNote for technology research, business notes, temporary storage,
screen clips, audio capture.

After >1 year, it's 252MB; meaning it's storable on my cell phone. ;-)

Hi Erik,

Thanks for responding.

One question on your massive ON notebook - do you encounter any
negative performance issues because it is so big?

Hi Erik,

You seem to have as much OneNote storage (if not more) as I do, and I'm
having terrible performance problems. Are you having problems with
performance? Are you spending a lot of time with OneNote monopolizing your
hard drive? I've been thinking that I need to drastically reduce the size of
my notebooks, but if you are getting good response with 5GB, then maybe I
have a different problem.

Oh, a couple of other thoughts - did you upgrade your notebooks from OneNote
2003? And what kind of PC (CPU, RAM, hard drive) are you using?

Thanks,
Blair
