What is Copied from Master Edits to Instances?

Here's one: Is there a compact reference for what is copied from a
Master Shape edit to its instances?

Example:
I created a simple Circle Master and 2 instances.
I added a User row called Diameter to the Master Shape Sheet. The row
was NOT added to the copies. So I see that adding Master Rows doesn't
update copies.
So I deleted the copies and made two new ones from the updated
Master. So now the copies had the rows.
I then modified the width and height of the Master to equal the
Diameter value.
That adjustment was copied to the copies.
I then changed the Diameter value of the Master
That value was NOT copied to the copies

So back to my original question of Master updates and its copies. Can
somebody point me to a general treatise on what is transferred from
Master to copies? And hopefully a list of workarounds for the
properties/parameters that are not?

Thanks,

SteveM

Forget the above. I must be hallucinating.

Just for completeness, new rows in variable sections, such as Use and Shape
Data, are only propagated from Master to Instances, if the section rows have
not been changed (ie the number of rows, not values) in the instance.
