What Is Ctrl+Alt+S For

When doing the above, it splits the screen, one on top and one on the
bottom.
Whatever you type at the top, types in the bottom pane and visa-versa.
What is this feature for ?

it is for spliting the screen so you can compare two parts of same documents
without constant need for scrolling up and down.. it is actually in Windows
menu option Split
