I am about to purchase a new computer. I will install ONENOTE on the new one.
My question : how do I get the old data moved to the new computer- Where is
the data stored on the OLD computer
If you hover over each of your notebooks on the left pane in OneNote, it
will tell you the path for each of the notebooks.
Assuming you do not plan on using your old computer after you get your
new computer, use windows explorer to copy each notebook from the old
computer (from the path you see when you mouse over) to a new location
in the new computer. Then you can go into OneNote on your new computer
and open each notebook in turn (File->Open->Notebook, and pick the path
where you saved the notebooks).
For any notebooks that are stored on the network or on
removable/portable devices you can just open them right from the new
computer without needing to do any copies.
