I try to 'Open New Side Note' from my task bar
it asks me for my product key, and I enter the one from my 'Microsoft Office
Basic Edition 2003' but it doesn't accept it.
My question is; did this application come from the CD, if so what key do I
enter, otherwise I am not sure how it got on my computer-my email address is

Look here for what is in each Office 2007 suite:

Office 2007 Basic includes Word, Excel and Outlook 2007 and is I think only
OEM available. Did you receive Office 2007 Basic with a new computer? If
so, your OEM may have installed a trial version of OneNote 2007 and have
provided you with the needed key.

Hi Andy,

To add to Don's reply, the Office 2003 Basic Edition (which is an OEM/preinstall only edition) includes the same three apps as the
Office 2007 Basic Edition (Word, Excel, Outlook).

The 'open new side note' choice would be from MS Office OneNote, which, if installed, should be listed separately in Add/Remove
Programs in the Windows control panel. The computer may have come with a trial version of that product.
