What is item/message unique ID?

Hi,

I need to extract unique mail items from multiple Outlook
PST backups, regardless whether the items have been moved
from one folder to another. Is there a safe ID (EntryID,
ID, or something else) in MAPI or CDO that can be used for
permanently identifying a message?
