What is OUT OF MEMORY/SYSTEM RESOURCES?

I am trying to email photographs from Corel Photo Album 6 to an individual.
The error box comes up saying "You are out of memory or system resources.
Close any windows or programs and try again". I don't have any other windows
open and no programs running. What are they talking about and what do I do
now. It will not let me transmit my photos.
