What is the best configuration connectivity via LAN & WAN connecti

I have been reading through configuration documents and I still have not
found the best way to configure an Outlook client for remote connectivity. We
currently have an Outlook client configured to work via Corporate Workgroup
and connect to our Exchange 2000 server via a local LAN connection. In
addition to connecting via the LAN, we need to allow remote access via an
internet connection? What is the best way to configure a user's client to
connect via both from the local LAN and from a remote internet connection? I
have work with Novell's Groupwise client product in the past and it had a
pretty easy process for configuring remote synchronization with a Groupwise
server but I've not been able to find anything that helpful with Outlook or
Exchange documentation. Does anyone have any ideas for the best configuration
or any link to resources related to my issue? I have scanned through the
knowledgebase articles and some newsgroups without any luck. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated!
