What is the best way to use FrontPage on two machines?

I've been using FP2003 for years for my sites.I have a small office,
but I'm doing web site design and programming mainly at my home
computer.
I was always facing the problem of using FP on both place, and there
occured other problems too.
For example FP uses the "full computer name" to determine the status of
changed pages when publishing. Years ago I tried to do the following:
- I made some changes at home, all sites resided on a portable HD. Then
I took it to my office, and I loaded the web sites from there into FP.
Then, after a few publishing, I had to realize, that FP mixed up the
whole site, because it saw two authors (i.e. two different "full
computer name"s). I was pulling out my hair..

Now I see the opportunity to solve this problem by reinstalling Windows
in my office AND during installation I set exactly the same computer
name as with my home computer. That seems to be a solution.
However, what can I do if I don't want to carry the HD with me? It's
not too comfortable, and it could be easily damaged.
Is there any other good solution to this?
How do you handle this?
I can't imagine, that there are no better solution on this..

Why are you carrying a portable HD around anyway -- does your second
computer not have a hard drive?

Here is what I would do assuming you have been using computer 1 to
work on your website.

Now when you want to use computer 2, open the live web on the server
at http://yourserverlocation.com and publish it to the hard drive of
computer 2

Do your changes or whatever on computer2 and publish the result back
to the server.

When you get back to computer 1, open the web at the server and
publish it back to computer 1 and work on it there, publishing back to
the server when you are done.

That should work ---

I agree with that scenario Clark and think it is a good way to do it.
Because it will be the same person using both computers that seems like a
reasonable way. Whenever the online web is opened to publish back down to
either computer 1 or computer 2 though it most likely will want to publish
most if not all files at least once since the file dates may differ.

If there were 2 different people using each computer then the solution might
be another way.

Yeah. Of course, this solution requires the purchase of two copies of
FP, unless one of the computers is a laptop.

Thank you guys.
I was also playing with the same idea.
I wonder if I can use the "Synchronize" function (on the publishing
window) to achieve the same results you recommended?? It seems to me
that it serves such purposes..

What's your opinion?
