What is the "Body Font"?

I have Word2007 and trying to understand Document Themes, specifically
what is being affected when the "body font" is customized. For example
I applied Trek theme and then selected Theme Fonts, Create new them
fonts and changed the font for the heading & body font. The heading
font changed for paragraphs having that style, but I don't see what
text the body font is affecting. I thought it would be text with th
Normal style, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Can anyone
what's affected by the "body font"? Thanks,
