What is the "Default" path of Words "Built in Tabs"...I want to replace them

Hi,
I would be ever so grateful for information on where Words default or
General tab templates "Live".
I have been able to create my own tab i.e.. ("Lawyer1" "Lawyer2") but I want
to REMOVE words default "Template Tabs" i.e.. Report, Publications, faxes &
letters.
Question 1. What would be the path to those templates in Word 2000, XP,
2003? I have tried the following paths...
C:\Documents and Settings\Mom\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
C:\Documents and Settings\Mom\Templates
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\TEMPLATES
I:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033 ...

Question 2. If you are unable to do this through Word via the above paths
THEN can it be done via the Registry and if so HOW.

I am a newbie at posting, I did read the rules on posting question, please
advise if I am unclear and all suggestions on proper 'posting is
appreciated'.

Thanking you in advance for your support.

Thank you.

It's nice to see someone come back with a thank you to a NG posted reply.
Often the reply to a query is the last in the thread. Let's hope you don't
gain this habit when you become a seasoned poster!

Hi there
I might be a newbie to "posting" but minding ones manners is a must -- no
matter how long one has been posting. All the support I have received from
the various "generous" sources has been invaluble. So, in having said
that...once again...I appreciate your kind response and the responses others
have received in regard to their postings. I often have found answers to
questions ...that I didn't even know were an issue (hope that statement
makes sense).
Bye for now

My recollection, at least in earlier versions of Word, is that those
"special tabs" do not exist as separate directories, rather they are created
on the fly by Word,

Haven't checked this in a while, but I expect that is still the case, ...

I just checked, that's still the case, the files are all in, say, J:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033, but the tabs are created by Word
internally.
