What is the difference between a Project, Resource, and Task Entity when
creating enterprise custom fields?

Brad:

This will also answer your previous question.

Task level fileds apply at the task level and can roll down to assignments
and are visible in task and assignment views
Project level fields apply at the Project level and are available for
Project Center views
Resource fields apply to resources and are available in resource views

Once you get this sorted out, the fog will lift. You're on the right track.

Thanks Gary,

I GOT IT!!

Another question: I like the look of a the views when the TASK fields are
used. The only problem is I need Resource name and Assignment Owner or
status manager. How can I get these fields when creating a Project VIEW
selecting TASKS?

Brad:

If you want to expose these in a view in the Project Client, you can simply
add them to a table and view. If you want to expose them in a Project detail
view in PWA, you first need to create custom enterprise fields that
reference these as a formula as Microsoft unfortunately left these out of
the selection list for these views.. Make sure you set these to roll down to
assignment level.
