what is the DLL in word, it stop working

when i open word i immediately get a message that reads: "Your autocorrect
file:MSO1033.ad, could not be saved. The file may be Read only or you may not
have permission to modify the file."
Well i have not tried to open a file or anything except to click on open
word. I called the support but don't have the money for them to repair
something called the DLL which has stopped working. Is there anyone out there
that knows what i am talking and can sort of help me fix the problem? I would
appreciate it very kindly.
