what is the extension for outlook files

My computer has crashed and although I can find some files on the C drive I
can't use the programs to access them. It has been suggested that I search
with the extension for the files and then copy/paste to CD, virus scan the
copy and then transfer them to my other computer.

I have searched and found my excel files and word files, but want to search
for the outlook (small business edition) mailing lists I have inout there. my
e-mail files would be nice too.

What is the outlook extension I use to search?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't get into my email at this
time, so I hope that I chek back here for an answer????

Look for a file with the extension of .PST.

So I searched with that and it didn't give me any files. I guess that means
they are gone? Any other way to try to retrieve the information?

Make sure that you have searched in the hidden files and folders. If outlook
opens, it implies that there is aPST for sure on the computer. Relax!
