What is the file size limition of the excel 2003 file

I want to ask that do excel has any file size limitation because i
take so much time(3 hour) to on saving a 50mb file, could anyone ca
help me ?

Theoretically the size of XLS files is limited by system resources,
but as your experience shows, they're not practical well before
reaching
100MB.
