What is the purpose of the PROJ_FY_START field in the Project Tabl

How and/or when is this date used and/or set? My fiscal year starts
1-October. If this is a date field, how is the year set? Or, is the date
simply a month and day?

Fiscal year can only be set to a month. The assumption is that it is the
first of the month.
You don't set it in the database, you set it in project.
Tools menu / options / calendar tab.
It is used in displaying the project timescale on gantt charts and the like.
I'm not aware that it is used in anything else, though it might have effects
on reports as well.

Thanks! I'm using MSPJGrid to display project files on a web page. Do you
know how to set the Fiscal Year for the MSPJGrid? The fiscal year is set
correctly to 1-October in my project file, however, when the Gantt chart is
displayed on the web page the time scale is showing the Fiscal Year as
1-January.

I am not very familiar with Project, I just inherited some code that I need
to fix. What do you mean by 'republishing the project plan'? Can you point
me to some resources that will help me?

Ask the people you work with who use Project Pro. They published the plan in
the first place. The Project Pro help should cover it. Or the project server
help.
