What is the push pin for in the send/receive process box in outloo

It shows up in the bottom right corner of the box that comes up after
clicking on send/receive. Normally, the push pin is shown in a longitudinal
position (i.e., with the point to the left, and the thumb-push to the
right). When I click on the push pin, it appears to change to a perspective
view (looking at the pin as if you were viewing it from an angle of say, 60
degrees or so), and the button turns to a lighter color. (Another guy in
the office says the button changes from a pin to a mouse; I just disagree.)
However, clicking on the pin appears to have no effect on anything, as far as
I can tell. I have tried right-clicking on it, but no shortcut menu (or
anything else for that matter) comes up. I have tried looking for something
in help, but have been unsuccessful. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THAT PIN IS
SUPPOSED TO DO???! I am just frustratingly curious!
I have wondered if it's just a do-nothing button -- to drive people like me
nuts.

If you push it in, the dialog box won't go away when the action is done (if
there are no errors).

A push pin is a universal icon to have that windows always on top. Point to
the left means you don't have pinned and when you see it from the top it
means that you have it pinned (always on top).

Universal to everyone except Microsoft, it appears. The pushpin does not have
that affect in this dialog. It is as the previous poster suggested--that the
dialog will stay up after the operation is completed when the pin is 'pushed
in'.
