What is the sense in Administrative project

Elena

Hi everybody :)
I need an advise from people who have used administrative project.
Now we are trying to implement Project at our company, so we need in an
instrument for accounting non-workin time (vacations, holidays, sick-list so
on).
What woulв be the best decision - to use template of Administrative project
or to create our own project for this aim.
I have already read discussion "Admin Projects..why use 'em?"
And understand that the main disadvantage of Ad project is
"Ad project doesn't designate vacation days as 'non-working' in the
persons resource calendar, so they can still be scheduled for tasks during
that
requested time off."
Can you tell me now about pluses of Admin. project?

Thank in advance

Given the fact that you understand the "down side" of using administrative
projects, a couple of advantages of them are:

1. They allow you to easily report on non-working time
2. They allow you to track unexpected work on tasks not assigned to anyone

Perhaps the others will have some thoughts also. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to work out our own template to report about non-working, so
that everybody can insert information about his/her non-working days
(without updating tasks from the leader), it was possible to see the
availability of each person on one calendar and in the same time Project
resheduled calendars in the Enterprise Resource Pool?

Our company officially recommends that you enter planned nonworking time,
such as vacation and personal leave time, on each resource's calendar in the
Enterprise Resource Pool. We also recommend that you use an Administrative
project to capture unplanned work and unplanned nonworking time, such as
sick leave. Hope this helps.
