what is the workaround for the SKU011.CAB office update problem?

now i can't run excel 2003 because at start-up, it is looking for the missing
update file - SKU011.CAB which is nowhere to be found. /MSOcache has a file
SKU011.XML, but no CAB file. should i completely uninstall office 2003 pro
and then reinstall it from my cd's?
