What is this stupid thing that follows me around?

I have Word 2003, and there's some kind of stupid little icon that follows
me around in a document, particularly if I'm pasting. It looks like a
little clipboard. It is in my way and I cannot tell where my cursor is to
paste, how do I get rid of it.

It is the paste clipboard where you can select how you want to paste your
selection - use original formatting/use destination formatting/etc.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
