What is This Triple Line?

Can anyone provide any information? I have been using Word for several years
and this is a first instance.

I keep getting a triple line extending across my document in Word 2007. The
top line is a solid thin line with a blank space the same size immediately
below. Underneath that is a thicker solid line with a blank space below it.
Below that is another solid thin line same size as the first. This triple
line extends across the entire page and is about the height of the font I am
using.

I can delete it providing I delete the sentence immediately above. However,
it keeps cropping up unwanted at random in a 450 page double space
manuscript. It started in Word 2003 just before converting to Office 2007.
Sometimes, I will get two or three instances in the document.

I cannot access the triple line directly but can copy and paste it into
another Word file only if I include the sentence above it. I can delete it
but have to highlight the sentence above it and delete that sentence. I seem
to have this problem in only this one large document.

The triple line will not paste into this forum.

I do not know what to call it so I have not been able to query the help file.
