What Is Visio?

Hello, I have received a *.vsd file but am unable to open it (I have Office
XP Professional). Apparently I need a program called Visio to open this file.
Where can I get Visio, is it a free download, a plug-in to PowerPoint, etc?

visio is another office product. there is a free visio viewer available for
download from microsoft.

If you go to Microsoft Office Tools on the web and search for Visio viewer
you will find a free download that will allow you view a visio file.

Visio .vsd is a 2D vector drawing primarily to show flowcharts.
