i have never used anything like this,what kind of pen do i use on onenote

Most of the pen features will only work to the fullest if you're running
OneNote on a Tablet PC
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/tabletpc/default.mspx). You would use
the pen which comes with the Tablet PC.

Otherwise, you can use any external digitizer pen (such as the ones found
here:
http://www.wacom.com/index2.cfm

This would give you the ability to "write" into OneNote, but you won't be
able to perform handwriting recognition on what you input.

Is there anyway to get hw recognition with just a Wacom then? I thought
this was possible, at least with ON2007. Would installing the tablet
SDK help?

Aloha Knightnet,

You can get HW recognition with a Wacom if there is a Wacom driver that does
HW recognition. Neither OneNote nor the Tablet PC OS will recognize text
from a Wacom on their own.

Caveat: if you create some ink with the Wacom and paste it into OneNote 2007
as a picture you *MIGHT* be able to get an OCR of that text (not really the
same thing as digital ink) if your handwriting is EXTREMELY clear. Maybe.
