What makes Word think the template has changed?

Sometimes when I create a document based on one of my templates and
then save the document, Word asks if I want to also save changes to
the template, but I can't see how anything in the template could have
changed.

I know that some people (like my wife) also get this behavior all the
time for docs based on normal.dot -- word asks if she wants to save
changes to normal.dot when all she's done is create a new blank
document, type some text, and save.

Can anyone clue me in?

Sorry this isn't an answer!

The same thing was happening to me today too - Word 2002 - not with Normal
but with a template that I created myself and I know that what I did in the
document should not have affected the template (unless there is something
new in Word 2002 that I don't know about). I also would like to know what
the MVPs have to tell us!
