What progams can i use to do labels?

I want to create a database of customers and be able to do labels from the
same database what is the best office program to use.

Depends whether you want to do anything else with the db;
Acess, Excel and Word can all be used

Initial use would be as a database of customers mainly a contact list and for
mail out purposes.

Would one program be better than the other if the list in the future was
used for anything else?

Word, for the merging/printing the labels, and depending on the size of
the list, small to large, Word table, Excel spreadsheet, Access database.

Thanks guys.
The list is probably too long to do it as a word table and i wasn't sure if
I could do labels from Excel (duh!). Access was my preference but work
doesn't have Access on all the pc's namely mine which is an issue. But I have
it on my laptop so I was going to use that to create it and then do updates
using the other pc's. But if I can achieve the same results with Excel might
just use that.
