I have recently bought a new laptop computer and I have windows xp installed
as my operating system. Before I used to use Windows 2000 professional and
office 2000, which had microsoft outlook as the organiser/email/contacts and
others all in one. what program has taken over from microsoft outlook if any?

thanks.

Outlook 2003 is the latest version and is part of Office 2003 (2 major
versions higher than Office/Outlook 2000).

That is the latest version, but the product and its position in MS' product
lineup hasn't changed. Outlook is still offered as the utility to use for
corporate message/communications and for home email use.

If you didn't have Office previously, what you may have had wasn't Outlook
but Outlook Express. If you don't want to purchase Office, you might try
using Outlook Express and see if it meets your needs. Of course, it won't
talk to OneNote, but that's a choice you make.

I think you may have posted in the wrong area...
This is the newsgroup for OneNote, a note taking software.
Try reposting in the Outlook newsgroup.
