What program should I use to make a reference library?

I need to make a booklet with the name of the book and year it was printed
then below it have a breif description. I have about 100+ books and I
already started doing this in microsoft word by putting it in a table, but
have found that it is very difficult. The books are in alphabetical order,
but then I found one that went at the top and I had to add it in and this is
basically impossible without messing up all the other books. I'm doing this
for a project at work so I really need help!!
I want it to look like this :
______________
1 [ Book Name Year ] 4 etc.
----------------------
-Breif description
about the book
_______________
2 [ Book Name Year ] 5 etc.
--------------------
-Breif description
about the book

3 etc.

Unless yall have a better way to do it, but it needs to have that
information! THANKS

You're doing something odd in the way you've set up your table if inserting
a row is messing up other rows.

But with around 100 entries, Excel might be easier, at least for data entry.
Then use Word to format the output.
