You can list the movies in a column in Excel, then use Data>Sort to sort
the list. There are instructions in Excel's help, and here:

Nothing wrong with Excel if you have it.

Also MS Access from Office Suite.

There are other DB applications other than Microsoft Office products that
would be equally as efficient.

Where does your movies list come from?

What is the layout and Format?

Some types of lists are easier to import to Excel than others.
