what Project Server Group?

Hey

At work we use Project 2007 Professional and Project Server 2007 and PWA
2007...

I've configured my Project 2007 Professional to automatically connect to the
Project Server when Project 2007 Professional starts.

But when I start Project 2007 Professional I get an message saying this
"login failed, project could not
connect to server, please check your username and password"

(However I'm able to login to the PWA without any problem. In server
settings I see I'm member of Administration group....)

(3 weeks ago I was able to connect to Project Server from my Project 2007
Professional., but that was on my old computer. Now I have a new computer
and the login problem started when I got the new computer.. - however I
don't think the problem is related to the computer because I'm not able to
login on other other computers as well)

I've been searching the Internet about this issue, and from what I
understand users which will connect to Project Server via Project 2007
Professional needs to member of a special (active directory) group

I'm not sure if it is so or what group this is???

any suggestions that may fix the problem are most welcome

Hi Jeff,

The AD peice is probably a red-herring in this case. You can synch users
from your AD to create uses and place them into certain project server groups.

To troupble shoot your problem, in PWA | Server Settings | Users, make sure
and that it is a member of the project managers group. Asssuming no-one has
changed any settings in that group then you will have the right to log on
(the specific permission is the ability to log onto Project Server from
Project Professional).

Thanks. I'm member of the project manager group and I've checked in Server
Settings that project managers have permissions to onto Project Server from
Project Professional...

But still I cannot login...

Here is some additional information about this problem
I've tested this login issue on 3 different computers. 1 winXPpro+sp2
machine and 2 Vista machines.
On all those computers I wasn't able to logon to Project Server via Project
2007 Professional.

But I'm able to logon now from the winXP machine. Before I opened Project
2007 Professional. I tested the link to the Project Server in Internet
Explorer, and logged in via Internet Explorer.. After successfully login via
IE I started Project 2007 Professional it works......

But this scenario don't apply to the Vista machines...
1 of the Vista machines have Norwegian vesion of Project 2007 Professional
and the other Vista box has English version. The Project Server is a
Norwegian version...

any suggestions?
