In 2004 Word, Normal file was located in the Microsoft User Data folder (in Documents). This is the file that contained (in the 2004 version at least) the information about my customized toolbar. Where is this file now -- in the 2008 version of Word -- or is there another file that replaces it?

and furthermore.... when I trashed the 2004 Normal what replaced it in the Microsoft User Data folder was a file called AutoRecovery save of Normal. When I double-click on that I get a blank document with my customized toolbar -- which is a good thing -- but when I open Word through the application or an existing file, I get the default toolbar that comes with Office. Even if I customize the 2008 toolbar from scratch again, I'd like to know where the resulting template (?) file is situated and what it's called. What can or should I safely trash?... the 2004 Normal? Oh this is so frustrating.....

From Help, "Change settings for new document" (searched for "template"):

1. On the File menu, click Open, and then click

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/
Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Templates.

2. Double-click Normal.dotm.

The Normal template opens.
