What the *&^%$ is wrong with Office 2007 uninstall

It won't uninstall on my home computer or on either of my work computers (XP SP3). The uninstall program is corrupted. I changed work computers so I needed to uninstall on one (I have two licenses), but I couldn't. I finally installed it on my new work computer along with OneNote. I had to wait for my activation code. I got it a couple of days later and entered it. It would ask me to reinstall; I would say yes and it would fail. Finally I decided to uninstall OneNote. Nope, just crashes. I tried to remove it manually so I could reinstall and now it won't start or uninstall. I decided maybe it was the SPI download. Nope, that won't uninstall either. I then came home tonight and decided I would see if I could uninstall on my Vista (SPI) home computer--nope the uninstall program is unavailable for Office Professional Plus and OneNote. I don't need to uninstall it at home since it works fine, but what in the hell is going on here?

Is there no way to uninstall this damn thing without traipsing through the registry and hacking it and deleting folders and praying, and then you just end up with no Outlook, email, or anything, and it might not let you reinstall anyhow.

Help!!!!!!!!!!! I have looked in support and knowledge base but what I find is too damn complicated. I need a utility to clean up this mess like the one they have for One Care.

I found this, but since this is so prevalent, shouldn't MS issue a utility
to do all this for you.

How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using
the "Add or Remove Programs" feature
