What to buy and when?

I am ready to buy Office 2004 Business Ed. this week. Two questions:

1st - why should I buy Professional, i.e., why would I want to run PC
programs?

2nd - should I buy now or wait until the Office 2006 (sic)? M'soft
news says they are working on a new edition, but haven't given a
release date. Would I be able to upgrade at a reduced price? I'm not
talking about the $200 upgrade price, I mean will there be a grace
period for new buyers?

My computer: PowerBook G4/133/17"/ 1.5 GB
