Looking to buy OneNote and install it on my Tablet and Desktop. I read an
earlier thread that the OEM versions were good for only one install but the
boxed versions were OK to install on two machines, same owner. I have seen a
boxed version on Amazon for $79 less a rebate (that I don't qualify for in
Canada) or I can go to ebay or Amazon where there are sellers selling new
versions just the disk only and serial number (around $20). Does anyone know
if these single disks are OEM and can they be installed on two machines.

Also with the $50 rebate that MS is offering, does this mean that a new
version is coming out and are they trying to blow out inventory.

A new version will be out "sometime," Cliff. Beta hasn't even started yet
that I know of, so I expect it more like next year at some point. Have you
checked some of your online retailers in Canada
(http://www.computers-canada.com/dir/vendors.html?province=BC)? They should
also be offering OneNote.

Hi Chris, I'm OK with $20 just wanted to know if the software that they claim
is fully legal, but is only a disk and key, would install on two machines, or
would it be OEM and only install on one.

You would need to ask the seller, Cliff. I have no idea the validity of
software like that, especially when it is way below the normal market price.
